Description
This rare bayonet has been manufactured for short period of time, between 1902 and 1905 in Tokyo arsenal for the navy. Soon they were replaced by? type 38. Most were then sold as surplus to Siam, Finnland, possibly Russia. The most characteristic detail is a spring and catch on handle back, that hooks the small opening in scabbard throat, preventing the bayonet from sliding of the scabbard.
