NIce example of NCO shin-gunto sword. They were introduced in 1933. Blade is mass produced, possibly even imported from England or Germany. Blade has fullers on both sides. The hilt is nicely detailed aluminium cast, partially brown painted to mimick tape-wrapping of officer’s pattern. Blade is numbered in arabic cyphers, equal on scabbard mouthpiece. There are markings on the fuchi – 3 intersecting circles Kokura/Koishikawa stamp, Koishikawa control stamp in the middle and another unknown.
