Description
The sword has initially been a mistery for me. I’ve found the producer on other Swiss swords and then I’d found the identical sword listed on one of the auction sites. It made me convinced that it is Swiss. I’ll consult it with Swiss blades expert. The sword is heavy, much more massive than similar French M1831 sword. The manufacturer is “A.Brast A.Aarau”.
After great book by Ernst Grenacher came out:
Artillery model 1852 The components of this weapon were manufactured in different countries, and most blades are Solingen marked – “A.Brast A.Aarau” is well known manufacturer of final products but really rarely marked the blades.
