Description
Kongsbergs arsenal could initially not change the production for the new Remington rifles, so in 1869 it was decided that rifles should be ordered from Sweden.
Huskvarna faktori delivered 6000 rifles, 2000 in 1870, 2000 in 1871 and ca 2000 in 1873.
The bayonets was however manufactured by Eskilstuna Jernmanufactur AB. They were also delivered in three batches.
Leverans 1, 1870, serial number 1 to 2000 was inspected by WA (Pehr Wilhelm Amnell).
Leverans 2, 1871, serial number 1B to 2000B was inspected by IdB (Edward Govert In de Betou).
Leverans 3, 1873, serial number 2000 to ca 4000 was inspected by HH (Harald Holm).
This is one of the bayonets from the first batch.
