Description
The only one I’ve seen variant of 1878 faschnenmesser. Blade is similar to typical 1878 faschinenmesser but pommel is curved (like in 1916 bautruppen) and has an opening for Faustriemen. It is not custom modification. Would be greatful if someone could name it.
And here came an explanationa from some nice gentelmann found on FB – Swiss pioneer faschnenmesser manufactured in 1887 by Waffenfabrik Neuhausen, only a few pieces were manufactured for tests, some were supplied to Norway in years 1889–1892.
