ELCHO volunteer Kirschbaum Solingen bayonet

Description

Bayonets of Lord Elcho concept were generally designed for Martini -Henry rifles. British military just tested them and bought in limited quantities form 1871 to the end of seventhies. They found practical application mainly in Ashanti Wars in Gold Coast of Africa. Many were sold as volunteer bayonets, made by Wilkinson and Solingen manufacturers – Kirschbaum  and Felix. This is nice example of Solingen Kirschbaum made one with proper scabbard.
