Description
Whole bayonet, including the handle, made of steel. Crossguard with quillon – unlike other Manceaux bayonets. The numer on the crossguard is 25. The one listed in ABC has number 22. All known pieces have two digit numbers.
It war not designed for typical percussion Manceaux rifle, but for later experimental Manceaux rifles (1870-75) for centerfire ammunition, made in very small number.
There is “Manceaux/A Paris” stamped on the handle.
